  • How much Chiropractic Care will I need?

The amount of Chiropractic Care you "need" will depend on a few factors: Age, Health, Activity, Stress, Ergonomics, Previous Health Issues/Concerns, and Flexibility. We will ALWAYS customize the Care we provide to the needs of the individual and empower each person with the tools they need to know what to expect at a Chiropractic Session and what are the likely outcomes to expect.

  • Once I start Chiropractic Care will I ALWAYS have to go to the Chiropractor?

You will begin feeling an improvement in how you feel and how you move pretty quickly after starting Chiropractic Care. You will likely prefer the way you feel when your nervous system is communicating more coherently and when your body is moving with less tension and restriction. That usually means people willingly and gladly will continue care as a part of their self-care. Just like exercise, hair care, nutrition, and stretching.... it works if you work it!

  • How long does it take to notice a change to how I feel when starting Chiropractic Care?

One of the great things about Chiropractic Care is that the results are typically pretty instant. We usually expect our Clients to notice an improvement of about 10%-30% to how they move and feel per session.

  • What if I don't want the Chiropractor to "Crack" my Joints?

We will ALWAYS honor requests our Clients make. We are happy to use non-force techniques, Chiropractic Adjusting Instruments (Activator/DropTable/Arthrostim), or Mobilization if we think that our Client's bodies are better suited for less forceful techniques.

  • Am I too (thin, overweight, big, young, old, tall, short, scared, modest) to receive Chiropractic Care?

We adjust people of all shapes, sizes, ages, or phases of life. We will always cater to YOUR needs and help you get the results that you deserve! Our procedures will be tailored to your body's size/shape/age/health/energy. We make a huge point to explain our procedures in detail and will only perform the ones that you feel 110% connected to! We will never make you feel bad if you don't want us to adjust you in the way that we propose.. we can figure it out as a team!

  • How long is a Chiropractic Session?

Each Chiropractic Session is approximately 15-mins. long from start to finish. When you arrive, we will check in to make sure that you are getting the results that you deserve, or if we need to explore a different approach. We will work with you for about 7-10min and then you will get to enjoy some of the amenities in our Space Lounge for about 7-10min. We will start on time and get right to work. We don't like waiting and don't want our Clients to have to wait either!

  • How is a Chiropractic Adjustment performed?

A chiropractic adjustment or manipulation is a manual procedure that utilizes the highly refined skills developed during the doctor of chiropractic’s intensive years of chiropractic education. The chiropractic physician typically uses his or her hands—or an instrument—to manipulate the joints of the body, particularly the spine, in order to restore or enhance joint function. This often helps resolve joint inflammation and reduces the patient’s pain. Chiropractic manipulation is a highly controlled procedure that rarely causes discomfort. The chiropractor adapts the procedure to meet the specific needs of each patient. Patients often note positive changes in their symptoms immediately following treatment.

  • Why is there a "popping" sound when a joint is Adjusted?

Adjustment (or manipulation) of a joint may result in the release of a gas bubble between the joints, which makes a popping sound. The same thing occurs when you “crack” your knuckles. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint, which results in gas bubbles being released. There is usually minimal if any, discomfort involved.

  • Is there any research supporting Chiropractic?

A growing list of research studies and reviews demonstrate that the services provided by chiropractic physicians are both safe and effective. The evidence strongly supports the natural, whole-body, and cost-effective approach of chiropractic care for a variety of conditions. To read excerpts from relevant studies, visit www.HandsDownBetter.org/research.

  • What type of schooling do Chiropractors receive?

Doctors of Chiropractic—who are licensed to practice in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and in many nations around the world—undergo a rigorous education in healing sciences, similar to that of medical doctors. Because of the hands-on nature of chiropractic, and the intricate adjusting techniques, a significant portion of time is spent in clinical training. The course of study is approved by an accrediting agency that is fully recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. This has been the case for more than 25 years. Before they are allowed to practice, doctors of chiropractic must also pass national board examinations and become state-licensed.This extensive education prepares doctors of chiropractic to diagnose health care problems, treat the problems when they are within their scope of practice, and refer patients to other health care practitioners when appropriate. • Are the services provided by Doctors of Chiropractic safe?

Chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. Although chiropractic has an excellent safety record, no health treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects. The risks associated with chiropractic, however, are very small. Many patients feel immediate relief following chiropractic treatment, but some may experience mild soreness or aching, just as they do after some forms of exercise. Current literature shows that minor discomfort or soreness following spinal manipulation typically fades within 24 hours. Learn more at www.HandsDownBetter.org.

  • Can I receive Chiropractic Care even if I do not have a condition or pain symptoms?

Yes! We do not offer to treat any disease or condition other than joint dysfunctions associated with the spine and extremities. Our services are limited to the reparative/preventative effects of routine care by improving joint mobility and function in the spine and extremities. Many elect to go to the chiropractor regularly for maintenance and prevention. This is the style of care we offer. If you are experiencing symptoms or a condition that the doctor unable to treat, he will refer you to the appropriate healthcare professional.
